How is e-commerce hosting different from shared hosting?
On shared hosting, CPU and memory are pooled between the accounts of a server. Here, 2 vCPU and 3 GB of RAM are reserved for your store, and it answers on its own IP address with an SSL certificate included. A busy day on someone else's site cannot slow your checkout.
PrestaShop or Magento: which one should I choose?
PrestaShop suits most stores: it is quick to set up, has thousands of modules and handles several languages and currencies natively. Magento is built for large catalogues, several stores on one back office and B2B pricing, and is best with a developer on hand. Both plans have the same resources, so you can pick the platform on its own merits. If your site already runs on WordPress, look at our WooCommerce plans.
Can I host another e-commerce platform?
Yes. The plan is a cPanel account with dedicated resources: Softaculous installs PrestaShop, Magento and other open-source applications in one click, and you can upload your own. For WooCommerce, our dedicated plans are the better fit.
Is the SSL certificate really included?
Yes. A certificate is installed on your domain and renewed for you, so the whole store, checkout included, loads over HTTPS from the first day.
Why a dedicated IP address?
With a dedicated IP, your store's address and reputation are not shared with anyone else, which some payment gateways and firewall allow-lists require. It is included with both plans.
What happens if my store outgrows the plan?
You can move to a bigger plan or to a VPS at any time, and we migrate the store for you. Tell our support what you are seeing (slow pages, high load) and we will suggest the right size.
Is migrating my store really free?
Yes. Files, database, mailboxes and SSL settings are moved at no cost, and the switch happens when you say so. Send a migration request to get started.
How do backups work?
Files and database are copied every day to a remote location. You restore a table, a folder or the whole store from cPanel. Before a big version upgrade, make your own export too: it takes a minute and saves a day.
Can I test a module before putting it live?
Yes. Create a staging copy of the store, install the module or theme there, check the checkout, then publish. Git and SSH access are included for your developers.
What is the ElasticSearch option?
ElasticSearch is a search engine that makes product search fast on large catalogues, in Magento in particular. It is available as a monthly option; the price is in the technical table above.
Which billing periods are there?
Monthly, yearly or every 3 years. The price per month goes down with the longer periods, and the renewal price is the one shown. The 30-day money-back guarantee applies to yearly and longer billing (domain names excluded). Details are in our terms and conditions.
