Does it work with Outlook, Thunderbird, Apple Mail or Exchange?
Yes. The mailboxes use the standard IMAP, POP3 and SMTP protocols, so they work with Microsoft Outlook, Thunderbird, Apple Mail, Exchange and any other client that supports them.
How do I move my addresses from another provider?
With our migration tool, an IMAP copy: it copies every email and folder from your current mailbox into the new one, at no cost. Our team can run it with you.
Do you offer shared calendars and task lists?
Yes. Calendars, task lists and address books can be shared over CalDAV and CardDAV, and used from the webmail, Outlook, Apple Mail or your phone.
Why use an address at my own domain?
An address such as [email protected] shows customers who they are dealing with and does not depend on a free provider. You also get antivirus and spam filtering, daily backups, and you keep the address if you ever change host.
How do I read my email on my phone?
Add the account to the mail app already on your phone, Android or iPhone, or to the app you prefer, as an IMAP account. Step-by-step guides for Android and iOS are in our help centre.
Is an antivirus included?
Yes. Every incoming email is scanned for viruses and malware and scored for spam before it reaches your mailbox, and you can add your own allow and block lists. The servers are kept up to date against new threats. Stay careful with unexpected attachments all the same: no filter catches everything.
Can I change my email address?
Yes. The part before the @ can be changed at any time in cPanel, and you can redirect the old address to the new one. To change the domain as well, register the new domain and create your addresses on it.
Is there a trial period?
There is no free trial, but every email plan comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee (excluding monthly plans and domain names). Details are in our terms and conditions.
Can I use a domain bought elsewhere?
Yes. Point its MX records, or its name servers, to Ex2 and your addresses work on it. Our technicians can make the change with you, free of charge.
Is there a webmail?
Yes, Roundcube: a responsive webmail that works in any browser, with search, folders, filters, an autoresponder and a signature. Guides are in our help centre.
Does my web hosting plan already include email?
Yes, every Ex2 web hosting plan includes mailboxes, with limits that depend on the plan. The email plans on this page are for people who only need email, or who want their mailboxes kept separate from their website.
Will I lose emails when I switch to Ex2?
No. The migration tool copies the contents of your current mailboxes into the new ones, and your old provider keeps its copy until you close the account. Our technicians help if you get stuck.
Should I keep an antivirus on my computer?
Yes. Our server-side scanning is updated daily, but an antivirus on your computer adds a second check on everything you download, for very little resource use.
Can you set up a custom configuration?
Yes. For more storage, larger attachments, higher sending limits or a dedicated IP address, contact us for a quote.
IMAP or POP?
IMAP keeps your emails on the server and shows the same folders on every device; POP downloads them to one computer. We recommend IMAP. Our help centre explains the difference in detail.
Can I set up an automatic reply?
Yes. In the webmail or cPanel, set a start date, an end date and the message: useful for holidays or a mailbox that is no longer in use. The steps are in our help centre.
