What our technicians do, week after week

The routine that keeps a WordPress site fast, secure and up to date, done for you.

Uptime monitoring Automated checks test that your site answers, around the clock. If it stops, a technician is alerted and steps in.
Weekly updates, by hand Each week a technician applies the available updates to WordPress, your theme and your plugins, to close known security holes.
Fixes after updates If an update causes a conflict, a display error or a bug, we fix it before your visitors see it.
Daily backups A full copy of your site, files and database, every day. Restore any version from the last 14 or 30 days, depending on the plan.
Hardening and firewall Proven WordPress security settings, and the Monarx firewall filtering intrusion attempts, injections and bad bots before they reach your site.
Performance tuning Caching, database and server settings adjusted when the plan starts, reviewed regularly on Gold, with an audit of what slows the site down.

Which plan should you choose?

Both plans cover the essentials of security, updates and backups. Here is what sets them apart.

Silver For a stable site

A good fit if your WordPress site does not change much: a brochure site, a company blog or an institutional site with occasional content updates. You get professional security and support without paying for services you will not use.

Gold For a site that moves

Built for busier sites: online shops, high-traffic sites, businesses that publish regularly. Near real-time support on Slack or WhatsApp, double the developer time and the included licences (Divi, Elementor Pro, Astra Pro) make it pay for itself as soon as you would otherwise buy one or two of these tools.

Still not sure? Our team can look at your site and recommend the plan that fits, with no commitment. Ask our team

Why a WordPress site needs looking after

WordPress is powerful and flexible, as long as it is maintained. Here is why.

Powerful because it is open WordPress runs more than 40 % of the web, from personal blogs to big brands' shops. Thousands of themes and plugins let you build almost anything without writing code.
Every plugin is a door Each theme and plugin is a possible entry point if it is not kept up to date. Updates often patch known holes, and sites that lag behind are the first targets of automated attacks.
Someone has to watch Managed WordPress hands the monitoring, updates, backups and performance to a team that does it every day, for all its clients. Problems get fixed before you notice them.

WordPress, hackers' top target

It is not just a feeling: the threats aimed at WordPress keep growing, and fast.

Every year, more security vulnerabilities (CVEs) are published for the WordPress ecosystem, driven by the sheer number of third-party plugins and themes. In most cases the core is not the problem: it is a plugin or theme that is poorly maintained, abandoned by its author, or simply left out of the update routine.

Popular plugins have also been compromised at the source, sometimes through an update tampered with after a change of owner or a hacked developer account. Applying updates is not enough: you need to know what to watch, and react fast.

That is our team's ongoing job: following security advisories and published CVEs, checking updates before applying them, a firewall blocking known exploits, and a quick response if a plugin starts behaving oddly.

The more active plugins a site has, the larger its attack surface. Our job is to keep that surface under control, continuously.

Included every month

A developer who knows your site

Asking an agency or a freelancer for every small change means quotes, back-and-forth and minimum billing, so the change waits. With Ex2, a developer who already knows your theme and plugins is part of the plan: a text, a section, a display fix, a plugin setting, within your monthly time.

  • No quote for a five-minute change
  • No need to re-explain your setup each time
  • The small improvements get done, month after month

Your questions, our answers

What is the difference between Silver and Gold?

Gold answers tickets within 2 business hours instead of 4, adds a dedicated Slack or WhatsApp channel, doubles the monthly developer time (1 hour instead of 30 minutes), keeps backups 30 days instead of 14, and includes the Divi, Divi AI, Elementor Pro and Astra Pro licences.

Is this a hosting plan?

No. Managed WordPress is an option added on top of an existing site: monitoring, updates, backups, security, support and developer time. For a place to host the site, see our WordPress hosting.

Does my site have to be hosted at Ex2?

No. We can take over the management of an existing WordPress site wherever it is hosted, or of a new site you build with us.

Can I change plans later?

Yes. You can move from Silver to Gold, or the other way, at any time by contacting our team.

What happens if my site is hacked or goes down?

Our technicians step in to diagnose and fix the problem as part of your plan, restoring a recent backup if needed.

Can the developer time be used for a full redesign?

The included time (30 minutes or 1 hour a month) is meant for ongoing adjustments and small improvements. For a full redesign, we put together a separate quote.

Why are WordPress's automatic updates not enough?

WordPress can apply some updates on its own, but a theme or plugin update can break a feature on your site without warning. Our technicians apply updates by hand, check the site afterwards and fix conflicts before they affect your visitors.

How is the service billed?

Monthly, with no commitment and 30 days' notice to cancel, or on a 12-month contract at the lower annual price. Prices are in dollars, before tax.

How do I get started?

Contact our team with your site address. We look at it, recommend a plan and take over the management from there.
